Why see Earth, Wind & Fire?

The Almighty Elements are back and on tour!

Combining an astoundingly high level of musicianship, the tightest rhythm and horn section ever to grace this planet and the best parts of a wide-reaching selection of genres, Earth, Wind & Fire dominated the 70's with their monster grooves and high energy, danceable hits. They continue to build their legendary status with numerous world tours and albums to this day, garnering 20 Grammy Award nominations (winning six as a group) and a Hall Of Fame Induction along the way. Get swept up in their musical whirlwind as they head out on a US tour.

The music of EWF has origins in Jazz, RnB, Funk, Disco and Soul, culminating in the perfect Pop storm. While the music speaks for itself, the band's shows elevate things to an unbelievable level of showmanship; theatricality and virtuosity meet and without fail it gets people on their feet dancing. There will be classic tunes aplenty, so prepare to be transported back to the Golden Age of Funkadelic music.

Still, EW&F

I first saw EW&F in California in the mid 70's I think and have seen them on and off in recent years. Last night's performance at Wolf Trap was nothing short of spectacular. My wife, a native South African just kept saying 'I have never seen anything like that!' Yes, the guys are a bit older -- we all are. They don't move like they did in the 70's, few of us do. But the heart, soul, sound and professionalism is still there -- The trade mark of the greatest band of all time. In these times of diversity, last night, EW&F performed and brought together all races, young and old to be witness their greatness and longevity. Seeing the photos of the guys from the past, especially Maurice, made you feel good...brought tears to most of us. Took us back to friendlier times. Verdine on Bass, Ralph voice and percussion, and Philip percussion, kalimba and that amazing crystal clear falsetto - still. Thanks for an amazing performance and thanks for remaining Earth, Wind and Fire. ... Read more

Fabulous Fun!

I haven't seen EWF in years and I'm now sorry that I don't go to their show every time they're performing within driving distance! The are still a great band with beautiful sing along lyrics. Philip Bailey hasn't lost his amazing range and took me back to the 70s and 80s. The original 3 still have it! I know Maurice White is dancing in heaven with them! Pure soul, R&B and positive vibes were felt with a diverse crowd who danced and sang along for over an hour. I didn't want them to stop! Bravo!! ... Read more
